My name is Andrew. I’m writing this letter so close to getting out of the feds in hopes to find someone that can keep my mind away from anything negative that is beyond the walls of my incarceration. I’m currently in what some call “the belly of the beast.” But through the trial and tribulation I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I understand the beginning of wisdom and the first part of truly becoming a man was to accept full responsibility for my actions. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I know everything we do in life is a choice. From writing this letter, to you reading it. Every cause has an effect, every action has a reaction, but overall everything happens for a reason. People might look at my present circumstance as something negative, but I see the positives through the cloud of misery. I’m very optimistic. I grew up in Texas (no cowboy), but I do love and ride horses! I know when people hear you’re from Texas, they think cattle and land which we do have. But it’s way different! My father was in the military and I’ve traveled a few places like California, Mexico, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Arizona, and Germany. I love Germany and can speak a lil German. I like to see new things and meet all nationalities of people. Learning new cultures and different ways of life is beautiful to me! I am adventurous and love climbing to the next highest mountain. I go to the beach as much as possible 😊 While in prison I’ve grown to see how precious the world is; including us in it.

While incarcerated I have taken classes. But my 2 favs are: business and culinary arts. I plan to run my own company and I love to cook (a plus right?) 😊 and see the smile on people’s faces when I prepare a dish. I play handball, basketball, watch movies, work out, and write books and scripts.

I was originally offered a 5 year sentence on a charge that should have been a state jail felony or a misdemeanor, deadly conduct or reckless endangerment penal code 15.01. During my pre-trial proceedings the judge specifically asked the district attorneys if they were changing anything on my indictment that could affect the charge and or the sentence or the elements of the crime. At which time the D.A. responded “no”, they were only correcting typo error. They changed the name of the victim, which originally was wrong, the case number of the year was wrong, and the initial penal code which was / is 15.01 and is listed under the misdemeanor / state jail felonies. However, they changed the penal code to 28.02, which changed the entire crime to arson and there was nothing set on fire. I took this charge to trial because arson wasn’t a factor, I received a 70 year sentence. I was represented by a court appointed attorney who did absolutely nothing to defend me and was tried by a district attorney Able Reyna who has been on the local news as well as national news for amending cases.
